Message from the Chief Eagle

B” SCHOOL 2009-2010 and 2010-2011

Parents,

I am sure that you have heard the GREAT news that we maintained our School Grade of “B” for the second year in a row. Rest assured that we have not become complacent, and that our goal is still to become an “A” school. We need your assistance in keeping our students focused as we are preparing to enter testing season, FCAT, SAT/ACT, AP. Here are a few ways that you can work with us to ensure our student’s academic success:

  • Make sure that your students are in school everyday, and encourage them to be on time.
  • Frequently review their academic progress, encourage them to attend tutoring offered during lunch and after school.
  • Schedule a conference with teachers if you have concerns regarding your student’s progress.
  • Please stress to your students the expectation that they wear the appropriate uniform daily. Plain red, white or navy blue polos, and dark denim jeans or khaki pants. ( not black or grey)
  • Electronic devices: phones, mp3 players, etc. are NOT to be visible during the school day, including lunch time and in between classes. If the devices are confiscated there will be consequences which may include keeping the device until the end of the school year, ISS, and off-campus suspension.
  • Encourage your students to register for the SAT/ACT if they have not passed the FCAT. Fee waivers are available.
  • If they are behind in credits, they will need to be in PLATO after school, they may see their guidance counselor to register.
  • Tutoring is also available through 21st Century, students may sign up and receive a snack and transportation is provided.
  • Helping us reinforce these expectations will benefit our students and ultimately our entire school.

Regards,

    Mrs. Belynda L. Pinkston
    Principal
